Hey girl hey! There’s just something about a new semester that always makes me want to get my life together. This semester has been no different. In order to focus 100% on school, I quit my job, and now spend the majority of my time studying. I’ll do just about anything to get this degree wrapped up! In today’s post, I’m going to be talking about my school year essentials–things that I could NOT live without. If you want to learn more about my must haves, keep on reading.
1. The Happy Planner
I used to be a total Erin Condren girl, but I didn’t love the price. Last year, I was looking around Michael’s, and found that they have an entire section of planners. I got so excited and purchased two (don’t ask me why, I just felt like I needed two), and have been hooked ever since! What I love about these planners is that they come in different sizes and layouts, and there’s always extra pages for notes. I will never go back to another planner again. 2. PaperMate Ink Joy Gel Pens
I’m not even being slightly dramatic when I say these pens changed my life. I love how they write (you seriously cannot have bad handwriting with them), and they come in a ton of colors. The best part is that they literally don’t smudge at all. For my left-handed friends, this is a big deal! I use mine to color code things in my planner, as well as spicing up my notes to make them more fun to read. Click HERE to check out my go-to pens!
3. A Three Ring Binder + Dividers
I am not an organized person in any other part of my life, except for school. Every semester, I have my trusty pink binder that I keep separated with dividers. Each class I take has it’s own divider. I keep the syllabus at the front of the binder, and any important handouts go after it. I even print out any papers I write, just in case my professor somehow doesn’t get the paper online. A three-ring binder is my absolute favorite way to stay organized through the entire semester.
4. To-Do List by The Happy Planner
On top of having the best planner ever, they have to-do inserts that have a priority list, a task list, and a by-hour planner. I seriously don’t know how I ever lived without them! I use my pens to color code everything, and love to check off everything on my to-do list everyday. They are just as cute as they are practical, and help keep me in check all day long. I don’t know about you, but my school’s bookstore is SO expensive. I’ve had issues with Amazon sending me my books on time, so I turned to Chegg to order all of my textbooks. They have rentals available, but I pretty much always buy the physical copy of my books because I use them when I write papers for other classes. The other thing I love about Chegg is that they provide you with an online copy of the book while you wait for your books to arrive. No more paying a ton of money for books! 6. Cinda B Expandable Tote and Pencil Bag
I never knew how much I needed this bag until I got it. This semester, I have a ton of heavy books, and this bag carries it all. It’s the biggest tote bag I have ever seen, but I use every bit of it. It has a ton of pockets, which makes it super easy to stay organized. Plus, the prints are SO cute. I have the matching pencil bag and I’m obsessed. You can check it out HERE.
7. Post-It Notes
I know this is a pretty obvious one for a lot of people, but Post-It notes keep me SO organized. I’ll use them for reminders on things I need to d0, to help mark specific chapters in my books, and to help write down random ideas throughout the day. Typically, I will buy a whole value pack of them at the beginning of each school year, and use them all up by June. Definitely a must have to keep me focused! You can check out the value pack I buy HERE!
